Thanksgiving Date Pudding


1 c. nuts
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. boiling water
1 Tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar (granulated)
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix dates, water and butter and bring to a boil. Beat eggs and sugar. Add to date mixture. Sift flour, soda and salt, then add to mixture. Add vanilla and nuts. Grease pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool. Cut in small blocks and top with whipped cream.
