Halloween Treat Bars
1 c. sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
1 c. peanut butter
6 c. Rice Krispies
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. butterscotch chips
Mix sugar and corn syrup in 3 quart saucepan. Cook over moderate heat until
mixture begins to bubble. Remove from heat; stir in peanut butter and Rice
Krispies. Press into buttered 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan. Let harden. Mix chocolate and
butterscotch chips in top of double boiler, place over hot water until melted,
stirring to blend. Spread over cereal mixture. Chill. Cut into 2 x 1-inch bars.
Yields 48 bars.
